

Luke Pickle, 80, of Parkville, MO went home safe in the arms of Jesus at 3:04 PM September 12, 2010 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 14th at McGilley Antioch Chapel from 6:00-8:00PM. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 15th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, burial will follow at East Slope Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital Cardiology Office in memory of his daughter Lucinda Pickle.
Born July 20, 1930 in Le Flore County, Oklahoma to Elzie and Rozetta Pickle, he was the 11th child in a family of 16 children.
Luke was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Lucinda Rochelle Pickle on December 28, 1968, his parents, Elzie and Rozetta Pickle, 7 brothers; Bob, Ray and Clifton McClung, Hester, Farce, Gilbert and Marvin Pickle, 3 sisters; Lucille Turner, infant sister Ruby Hazel Pickle and Thelma Owens.
Survivors include; his wife of 48 years Velma, of the home, daughters; Roxanna Graham and husband Pete of Kansas City, Janice Schneider and husband John of Parkville, Mo., grandchildren; Andrew and Anthony Haupt, Sophia and Luke Schneider, great grandchildren; Kylie, Brayden and Keegan, 3 brothers, George Pickle and wife Jewel of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, Mark Pickle and wife Edith of Jay Oklahoma, Elzie Pickle of Kansas City and 2 sisters; Ellen Kilgore and husband Howard of Mosby, Mo, Rosa Lee Shirley and husband Frank of Jay, Oklahoma.
