M. Paulette Higdon, 74, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away at her home. She was born December 26, 1945 to Donald and Mildred (Salchow) Fenton and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Paseo High School in 1963. She met her husband, Ermon Higdon, on a blind date and they were eventually married in 1967 at South Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She retired from A-1 Rentals as a bookkeeper after working for many years.
Paulette was devoted to both the Lord and her family. Paulette was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Blue Springs. She loved her husband, “her two girls,” her five grandkids, and the many pets (especially her cats) she had throughout her life. Paulette saw the best in everyone and always wanted us to forgive and forget. She spent the first year of her marriage living in Lawrence, Kansas where she became an avid Jayhawk fan. Paulette loved the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. In addition to watching sports, Paulette was a reader and she loved shopping for both handbags and shoes-especially if they were on sale.
Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Mike Fenton, and her twin sister Pauline Fenton. She is survived by her husband, Ermon of the home, her two daughters, Paula (Craig) Lee of Blue Springs, Missouri, Kathy (Roy) Bolar of Fortson, Georgia and her five grandchildren, Megan, Steven, and Elizabeth Lee of Blue Springs, Missouri and Jacob and Samuel Bolar of Fortson, Georgia. She is also survived by her older brother, Gary (Valerie) Fenton of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and her younger sister, Coeita (Mike) Kimbrough of Belton, Missouri.
The family is thankful for the care Paulette received at the University of Kansas Medical Center from Dr. Qamar Khan, and nurses Stephanie and Oahn. Paulette did not know a stranger, could talk to anyone, was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
