Marcella W. Williams, 74, of Independence, MO passed away August 26, 2011. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday August 30th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with visitation 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the chapel. Burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Wayside Waifs.

Marcella retired from the Jackson County Government offices. She was a member of the National Organization for Women, and the former Treasurer of the Clay County Board of Health. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey D. Williams III, and a son, Glynn Wilkerson. Survivors include her children, Michael Williams, Sandra Alberson, Lynda Alford, Dwayne Wilkerson, Matt Williams, brother, John Walthall, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
