Mrs. Margaret Ann Springer was born January 30, 1943, in Edgerton, Kansas and raised in Independence, MO. She was married 61 years to Gary R. Springer Sr. They had 5 children together. As a family, they resided in Oklahoma, California, and Missouri in the Independence area. Marti worked in the insurance business for most of her career. Marti’s gifts and talents were caring for others and community service. In 1988, Marti became a charter member of the Optimist Club of Blue Ridge Mall of Kansas City, where she served four terms as president. In addition, Marti was a member of the Sugar Creek Optimist Club and officer of the Western Missouri District.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Rice, Geneve M. Rice, Sister, Tina L. Davis (Terry), beloved son George L. Springer and grandson, Jacob M. Springer.

Surviving family include husband Gary R. Springer, Sr.,: brother, George E. Rice (JoAnn) : brother Christopher W. Rice (Kathy) : brother, Phillip C. Rice (Kelly): son, Gary R. Springer, Jr. (Beth) : son, Greg T. Springer (Natalie) : son, Grant E. Springer (Nadja) : daughter, Lori A. Ritter (Steven) : 10 Grandchildren: Tyler Springer (Liz), Ryan Springer (Rachel), Joshua Springer (Aubre), Jordan Springer (Erika), Kylie Springer-Reed, Kenidy Springer, Payton Ritter, Cole Ritter, Dylan Springer, Brett Springer.

7 Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
