Marie Hayes

Marie Hayes, 90, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully on May 2, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at St. Mary’s Parish, 611 North Liberty, Independence, Missouri 64050. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on May 5, 2008 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 West Linwood Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri 64111. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Burial in Mt. Olivet. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 8745 James A. Reed Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64138.

Marie was a devoted Catholic and was a member of Holy Cross in Kansas City and St. Mary’s Parish in Independence for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hayes; daughter, Donna Rum and an infant son. Survivors include sons, Ralph Hayes (Suzie, deceased), Glenn Hayes (Stephanie) and Paul Hayes (Catherine); daughters, Sandra Williams (Larry), Janice Bass (Bill), Ruby Cooley (Dennis) and Linda Paul (Robert); brother, Jerome Oliver; 33 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
