Marilyn Derry

Marilyn Laura Derry, age 82 passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 30, 2013 surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born August 9, 1930 in Belleville, IL. To Frieda (Fritz) and Alvin Schulte. Marilyn married Jimmie L. Derry June 18, 1955. Marilyn was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ since 1958 where she served on several committees throughout the years. Eventually she and Jim purchased a motor home and wintered in Texas for the last ten years. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Janet. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Jim, her sons Douglas (Kim) of Holt, MO and Kevin (Margo) of Overland Park, KS, grandchildren Jennifer, Audra and Brian and great-grandson Jax, brother Lee Schulte of Marissa IL., and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Friday, July 5 at Bethel United Church of Christ, 4900 NE Parvin Rd, KC, MO. Funeral services will be 10am, Saturday, July 6 at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park, 801 NW 108th street, KC, MO. In Lieu of flowers please consider a memorial gift to the church.
