Jeanne was born in Farmington, Missouri to Virginia Heifner Provance, May 4, 1929. Her childhood years were spent in Farmington, she moved to Kansas City at age 16. She and her mother made frequent visits to friends in Lexington, Missouri where she met Thomas Giblin, the love of her life. They were married in 1948 and raised their family in Kansas City. They worked together to run a successful business, Mossie Alarm Company, for decades the foremost local burglar and fire alarm company in the region. They were a couple who enjoyed many social activities, traveling, entertaining, golf, gardening and family gatherings. Of these, travel and golf were Jeanne’s predominate favorites, she traveled with family and friends and was always looking forward to her next trip, with her first choice always being New York City. She loved bridge and golf, was a crackerjack bridge player and some of her proudest moments were when she achieved a “hole-in-one”, twice in one week, earning a spot in the “Faces in the Crowd” section of Sports Illustrated magazine.
Jeanne had a green thumb and her ability to gather and cultivate was not limited to her garden. She was known for her kindness and compassion for strays. She disliked seeing any living being untended; consequently she was beloved by her family, friends, neighbors, dogs, cats, et al. Her illness never dulled her lifelong sense of humor and playful personality. She charmed everyone from the mail carrier to her health care workers until the end of her life, she will be remembered and missed by a host of admirers who will think fondly of her outgoing, generous ways.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Giblin and her mother, Virginia Provance. She leaves behind six children, Mary Jo Saviano (Joe), Maliea J. Burrichter (Bill), Marcia J. Mailliard, Michelle J. Giblin, Thomas J. Giblin and Maria J.
