

Mark was born June 2nd, 1969, in Kansas City, Kansas to Paula Joyce (Atchison) and Delbert Leroy Dunmire.
Mark married his high school sweetheart, Kim “Albin” in 1995, and became a father to James Maximilian in 1999, and Charles Benton in 2003.
Mark’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to education, family, and community. Mark graduated from Grandview High School in 1987 and went on to enjoy most of the colleges and universities in the Kansas City area. He graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Avila University in 2006 and a Juris Doctorate from UMKC Law School in 2010.
Mark worked in the family business, Growth Industries, from 1992 until he passed, while pursuing his two degrees. He was loved by all Growth Industries employees whom he considered his family. He frequently roamed the halls of work wearing a ‘Growth’ flag as a “cape” and distracting all.
Mark was a longtime supporter of Law Enforcement, spending many years as President of the Kansas City Crime Stoppers and on the board of the Kansas City Crime Commission. In addition to, a member of the Missouri Peace Officers Association and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Mark loved his time practicing law, meeting many lifelong business partners, mentors, and friends. He was especially proud to have worked on Pastor Darryl Burton's case with the Innocence Project while in law school. Pastor Darryl will be officiating his service.
Mark has been a member of the Church of the Resurrection (COR) for over 20 years and was proud that both of his sons were confirmed and baptized in the church.
Mark and his family have been members of the Blue Hills Country Club for over 40 years, where he made many cherished friends.
When Max was in 1st grade, Kim asked Mark to go to the Cub Scouts meeting to sign Max up. Mark proudly came home the Den Leader and went on to become the Cub Master of Pack 3449 for many years, making many wonderful friends and memories.
Mark loved spending time at his home at Lake of Ozarks. He could be seen flying down the main channel in his Black Thunder powerboat with Max and Charlie cheering him on while Kim screamed at him to slow down.
A passionate sports enthusiast, he was an avid supporter of the Chiefs, Royals and Jayhawks. Mark was a season ticket holder to the Chiefs for over 30 years, a favorite memory of his was attending the Chiefs Super Bowl game in 2020. Mark enjoyed time outdoors at his farms, especially fishing and working his cattle.
Mark’s larger-than-life personality, characterized by his booming voice, beaming heart, and infectious laughter, endeared him to all he knew. Mark had a remarkable ability to make everyone in his presence feel like a cherished part of his life. Mark was a gregarious guy, with lots of friends, and a big personality. Mark certainly knew how to light up a room. If you could not locate him from his voice, you would quickly recognize him wearing a Tommy Bahama shirt halfway unbuttoned, an obnoxious set of sunglasses, and slicked back silver hair.
Mark was preceded in death by his brother Mike, father Del and mother Paula. He leaves behind his wife, Kim, his sons, Max (Ella Anstoetter, girlfriend) and Charlie. Father-in-law Benny Albin and many extended family members.
Mark’s service will be held Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, at Church of The Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. Visitation is from Noon to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 pm. The Dunmire family is asking for donations, in his name to The University of Kansas Hospital in lieu of flowers.
