Mary Jean (Perry) Blackburn DeAngelo of Independence, MO passed peacefully on April 27th 2025. The evening prior to her death she was surrounded by some of her family praying, reading scriptures, and singing hymns to her. It was a lovely time of saying goodbye to our sweet Mary Jean, who knew Jesus was waiting for her and where her faith would soon become sight.
Mary Jean was born on July 1st, 1928, to Clyde and Elizabeth Perry. She lived her first seven years on the family farm in Erie, KS. Mary Jean graduated from Manual Training High School in 1945. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (now AT&T) and after nearly twenty-seven years of service, retired in October 1989. After her retirement, she enjoyed sewing, reading books, playing the keyboard, and doing crossword puzzles. She liked researching and learning about natural health and grew vegetables in pots on her patio. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with family and friends. She often talked of her life and the history and stories of past generations of the Perry family. She spoke fondly of her three brothers, and shared memories of their childhood years.

She leaves behind friends and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Mary Jean will be remembered for her sweet spirit, tender heart, caring concern for others, kindness, love, patient endurance, and her faith in Jesus.
