

Mary Nistendirk Dysart, 85, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at her home with family members surrounding her. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 21st, 2:00 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64105.
Mary was born in Columbia, Missouri, graduated from Hickman High School in 1947, and attended Stephens College. She was happily married to David Dysart for over 48 years. He passed away in 1996. They lived together in Columbia, MO, moved to Kansas City, MO in the early 1950’s, and later lived in California for several years during the early 1960’s. They returned to Kansas City in 1964 and then retired at the Lake of the Ozarks. Mary spent her last twelve years in Prairie Village, KS. She was the Chairman of the K.C. American Cancer Drive and active in Children's Theater.
Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Nistendirk. She is survived by four daughters; Mary (John) Burrell, Nancy (Steve) Johnson, Pam (Craig) Eisenberg, and Liz Dysart Campbell; 15 grandchildren; Lisa and Pat; David (April), Elizabeth, Leslie (Leigh) and Richard; Jacquelyn (Sean), Jason (Natalie), Rachel (Adam) and Kathryn; Becky (Tanner), Kenny, Mary, Chris and Hannah;10 great-grandchildren; Felicity, Booker, Preston, Charlotte; Sadie, Owen, Emme and Miles. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Nistendirk. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
