

Mary Jane Silver, loving mother of Claudia Jane Hartman, and wife of Edwin C. Hartman, died August 21, 2011, in Lawrence, Kansas. Mary Jane was born in Kansas City, Missouri, January 14, 1923, and lived most of her life in the Kansas City area. She was a graduate of Paseo High School and attended the Kansas City Art Institute. She worked for Columbia Pictures on Film Row in Kansas City where she met and married Edwin C. Hartman. Together they operated the Motion Picture Booking Agency on Film Row until his death in 1961. Mary Jane continued operating the Motion Picture Booking Agency with husband William Silver until his death in 1988. She was a founding member and past president of the WOMPI’s, Women of the Motion Picture Industry. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Cecile Schlosser, her brothers Harry and George Schlosser, her daughter Claudia Jane Hartman, and husband Edwin C. Hartman and William Silver. She is survived by her nephews Larry Schlosser of Lawrence, Kansas and Brent Schlosser of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Elaine Hartman Pratt of Anchorage, Alaska. Services and interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 25, at Mt.
