

Betsy was born May 8, 1933 in Pratt, KS to Rear Admiral Virgil F. Gordinier and his wife Mary Eggleston (nee Kridler). She was married to Richard Lee Winslow October 1, 1956 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He preceded her in death, April 28, 1979. She married William H. Longston, January 9, 1982 in Kansas City, MO. Betsy’s life was full of travel following her father’s Navy career on both coasts and a period in the Panama Canal Zone, as well as years of RV traveling. She graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute and had a career in the field as well, as an interior decorator and housewife. Her hobbies included being a lifetime member of P.E.O., cross stitching, genealogy and Bridge.
She is survived by her husband, William Longston; two sons, Mark William Winslow and spouse Christy, John Gordinier Winslow and wife Kim; and daughter, Susan Elizabeth “Beth” Bland and husband Mark. Grandchildren include, Mark’s children, Bryce and Dylan; John’s children, Marcus, Megan and Clayton; and Beth’s children, Emily and Hannah, as well as many lifelong friends.
No interment is planned at this time. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the P.E.O. Education Loan Fund in Betsy’s honor, https://donations.peointernational.org/peo-donation-elf.
