Mary Ann died October 23, 2025 at age 93 at the Chapman Valley Manor. She was born October 11, 1932 to John J. McLeese and Elizabeth Tennie McLeese. She was raised in Kansas City, Missouri attending St. Francis Xavier grade school, then high school at Hogan from 1945-1949. Mary Ann attained an Elementary Education degree from the College of St Teresa (currently Avila University) in 1953. She taught at Hartman School and later at St. Thomas More School. Mary Ann married Milton F. “Mike” Mulligan in 1956. Together, they adopted three children that they proudly raised in the Catholic Church.
Mary Ann is survived by her twin daughters, Joan (Jeff) Keating and Jane Nesbitt; one sister Margaret Henry; nine grandchildren and over 30 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Mulligan; her son, Gerald Francis Mulligan; and her granddaughter, Rebecca C. Keating.
Mary Ann and Mike were founding members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and remained members for over 55 years. She was a member of The Ladies of Charity for over 60 years.
Visitation will be held October 30, 2025 from 10:00 - 10:30am followed by a Rosary and then a Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. Entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery will immediately follow Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Avila University, or St. Thomas More.
