Matt was a lover of music and could be found playing it, writing it or listening to it virtually anytime day or night. He was a brilliant drummer, an excellent acoustic guitar player, and played for several bands in the Kansas City-Lawrence area. He was also a fine cook, specializing in Italian food.
Recently Matt had devoted all of his free time to the Kansas City Chapter of Coaches vs. Cancer, and was instrumental in the huge success of its kickoff luncheon, which occurred just two weeks prior to his death.
