Maurice Francis Yehl (96) died peacefully in his home on April 28, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Eloise (nee Richardson), son James, parents Michael Adam, Zula Belle (nee Wooley), Stepmother Selene (nee Remington), brother Michael Adam, Jr., and sister-in-law Margaret (nee Morris) Perkins of Diamonddale, Michigan. He is survived by his grandsons: Michael (Adriana) of Plainfield, Illinois, Thomas (Donna) of Carpentersville, Illinois, and Timothy (Katherine) of Bethesda, Maryland. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Marcum (nee Hunt).
Maurice, also known as Mike, had eight great-grandchildren: Tommy Lewey, Samantha, Emma, Grace, Shannon, Colette, and Michael Yehl, and Adriana (Jerry) Mrizek. He also had two great-great-grandchildren, Carissima and Natalya Mrizek. Maurice is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Maurice was a United States Marine and served honorably in the South Pacific during WWII and went on to serve an additional 20 years in the United States Navy. The burial took place at Mount Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at 2201 Cleveland Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 6, 2020. Memorial Services will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 27, 2024. Military Honors will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Mount Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 2201 Cleveland Ave., Kansas City, MO 64127.
