

Max D. Jackson, age 81, of Kansas City, MO., passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at his home. Max was born June 29, 1936 in Chillicothe, MO, to Thomas C. and Ellen Irene Jackson. Max grew up in Kansas City and graduated from East High School in 1954. On July 20, 1968 Max and Joy were united in marriage and shared a wonderful life for almost 50 years. Together for 52 years.
Max worked for Payless Shoes for 45 years before a stroke that affected his eyesight forced him to retire in 1999. Max devoted his life to his wife, sons, family and friends. He will be loved and missed always by all who knew him. Throughout his life he loved fishing and hunting; and passed his passion on down to his sons and grandchildren. He really could have supplied a sporting goods store.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #47 where he served as chaplain, President, and Worthy Past President. Max is survived by his wife, Joy of the home; his Sons, Mark Jackson and wife Rhonda of Kansas City; Michael Jackson and wife Jennifer of Bates City; David Jackson and wife Michelle of Lone Jack; and Steven Jackson of the home; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Eric, Christy, Jessica, Kalynn, Carly, Caleb, Haley, and Colton; ten great grandchildren, Austin, Emily, Phillip, Myla, Tyshawn, Samaya, Rease, Jaylen, Brooke and Trevor; one great-great grandchild, Payton.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas & Irene Jackson, his brother Bobby Jackson and great grandson Kevin Shane
A celebration of Life will be held at the Moose Lodge 2537 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64129 on Sunday, February 25th with an open house from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
