
Michael Lee “Mike” Isaacson, age 49, of Olathe, KS passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Kansas City Hospice House. Mike was born on May 25, 1968 in Falls Church, VA. He graduated from Blue Valley North High School in 1987, went on to graduate from the University of Kansas in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Management, and earned a Masters of Business Administration, Marketing and International Business in 1999. After college, Mike began his career as an accountant with QCC, Inc and later worked as an accountant for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers before becoming CFO for The Teel Institute. He then became Operations Manager for the Johnson County, KS Area Agency on Aging where he worked until his passing. Mike enjoyed playing soccer, fishing, spending time with his friends and family at the Lake of the Ozarks, and caring for animals that needed a home. Mike was a devoted father with unbounded love for his two children Jonathan (14) and Madison (12). They were his greatest joys in life and filled him with love and pride each and every day. Mike, known for his huge heart and endless compassion, was a loving father, son, and brother and will be sorely missed.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willis and Sally Aldridge, Andy and Lillian Isaacson, and his father, John “Terry” Isaacson. Survivors include his former wife, Stephanie (Thompson) and children Jonathan and Madison Isaacson; his mother, Judy (Aldridge) Isaacson; his sister, Jill (Isaacson) Duffy; his brothers, Mark, John, and Doug Isaacson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26th at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9100 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the college savings plans for Mike’s children.
