As a new manager at IBM in Support Mike was there to help guide me and understand the history or each of the employees I was to take on from his area. He had a sense of responsibility to everyone he managed and it showed in his  every day interactions.
May his memory be eternal. 

Bonnie, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  My sincere condolences are with you and your family.  I will forever remember Mike's sly smile, intelligence, wit, and ability to make everyone feel like a part of his family.  My prayers are with you.

You were truly an unsung hero among Informix Support Community!  You will be missed dearly.  You were one of the very first people I met during my job interview.  I fondly remember our discussions in the evenings, after a hard days work at the office.  You were passionate about customer support and took personal interest in the lives of the support engineers that you touched.

I am at a complete loss of words. Mike and I had a great relationship so long ago. Jayhawker Towers and his crazy fancy stereo a lifetime ago. He will always be a part of me and part of my life’s journey. I so wish he would have come down to the lake and enjoy some off time. He was going to, but we just never know how much time we have left. You will be missed. I cannot imagine what Bonnie is feeling but we all love you. I am really happy about the other posts on this site. Mike was an inspiration in so many ways. Rest In Peace my friend.

How can I say goodbye to Mike? I really don't know how but I think I can say that he has changed the direction of my life. We worked together for years at IBM, in the Informix Support team, until we started talking again.
Well, I don't want to waste words talking about Mike's work, but about the human person he was. That's how he changed my life and my decisions when we met again in 2018. He was so human and so passionate, always supportive to my personal problems, my needs and my family. We used to talk for hours on the phone and he always remembered the names of my wife, my daughter, and my two puppies. I knew he was ill in our last chat and I knew how much he cared about you Bonnie and the whole family.
There are no words to express my feelings right now but I'll try just one: THANK YOU! Thank you Mike for the learning, for your time, for the patience and the passion for the work. May God always bless Mike, Bonnie and the whole family.

On behalf of the Informix community we have lost a truly devoted friend. You were one of a kind most users of the software never knew but you secretly touched every user of this software worldwide. You made each one of our lives better and I don't think I ever.met an individual who simply cared about his customers as much as you did. 

A few years ago I had the true pleasure while in KC of having dinner with you and you simply could not stop talking about work and customers. The thousands of Informix customers around the world lost their true unsung hero. 

I wish I could get to your service just to thank you one last time so please all who are there thank Michael on my behalf.

Sincere condolences to the O'Dwyer family as I heard about the sad passing news from Andy Adams who is a colleague at IBM and formerly at Informix Software. This news has indeed saddened me and I am happy to share this short message - thanks to Andy for alerting.

I had worked with Mike in the past at Informix and later at IBM. He was always very helpful and positive in our regular calls during my Australian evenings (due to timezone) with fellow technical support managers around the world.

He always cared about his support engineers and always made time for everyone including myself when I remotely contacted him to chat or seek help.

May the family have positive memories of him during this time and moving forward. 

Our thoughts and prayers will remain with you all.
