Michael Anthony Rojas

Michael Anthony Rojas, 74, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Feb 9, 2021 at his home. He was born on Aug 6, 1946 in Kansas City, KS to Benito Tejada, Sr. and Petra Betty (Medellin) Tejada. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966, and was employed for 33 years with the Santa Fe Railroad as a switchman. A devout Catholic, Michael loved his family and enjoyed spending valuable time with them during gatherings. He mostly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A loyal Chiefs and Royals fan, Michael was a Chiefs season ticket holder for 25 years and owned a collection of Chiefs and Royals memorabilia. Michael was an amazing husband, father, brother, and friend. He was simply the best.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Benito Tejada, Jr.; and sister, Evelyn Reyes. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Teresa Rojas; children, Paul Rojas (Denise) and Felicia Rojas-Tinoco (Edward); grandchildren, Delenna, Alexandra (Jesse) and Michaela; great-grandchildren, Chris, Carson, Kennedy, and Lincoln; brother, John Tejada (Christina); sisters, Rosemary Hernandez, Julia Alaniz, and Tina Guerrero.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb 12 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1310 Westport Rd, followed by entombment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Pallbearers will be Gerald Loya, Ed Tinoco, Mike Aguilar, Tony Rojas, Frank Reyes, Ben Guerrero. Condolences may be offered at www.mcgilleymidtownchapel.com.
