Nancy Jean Dixon O'Neal

Nancy Jean Dixon O'Neal gained her Heavenly wings on January 15, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Jean was born on December 11, 1926 to John and Hannah Keith in Chillicothe, MO. She was the Matriarch of five generations; that include 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 41 great-great grandchildren. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughters: Connie Nichols of Kansas City, MO, Sharon Nichols of Independence, MO, and Thelma Erter of Raytown, MO; plus countless grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her 4 sisters, 4 brothers, her daughter: Nancy Graves, her son: Kenneth "Mike" Graves, and her son-in-law: Robert Nichols. Jean recently celebrated 50 years of membership with The Moose Lodge #10 in Sugar Creek, MO and with The Women of the Moose #1092. She was also a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles #385 in Independence, MO for 40 plus years. Jean was a commanding presence wherever she went, and she lived her 96 years to the fullest. There wasn't a dance floor around that she would shy away from, and she would never decline an invitation to dance. Very little could keep her from her Friday hair and nail appointments or her Wednesday and Sunday Poker Tournaments. She cherished her time with her family during Sunday barbecues and she loved to make cookies and candies for them every holiday season. Jean loved her sweets and nothing tickled her more then sharing with her grandbabies. Jean has left a lifetime of memories for us to treasure and she will forever live on in our hearts and memories. Services for Jean will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation from 1:00pm to 2:00pm and funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. The committal service will occur directly after the funeral service in Floral Hills Cemetery.
