Nick T. Cave II

Nick T. Cave II, 69, Overland Park, KS, passed away September 8, 2015. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. followed by memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Old Providence Baptist Cemetery Association, 2885 State Road TT, New Bloomfield, Missouri 65063.

Nick was born August 18, 1946 in Fulton, MO, son of John and Harriet (Gooch) Cave. He earned his Bachelor’s at Westminster College and attended the University of Missouri for graduate school before serving as a first lieutenant in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He then earned his J.D. from the National Law Center at George Washington University. Afterwards, he worked in the human resources department at General Services Administration, eventually becoming its director. He continued working until the day of his passing.

Nick loved baseball and football, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was interested in the world around him, following politics and current events and reading history. He enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it involved emailing them jokes, talking with them over the phone, losing to them in cribbage, or listening to their many stories.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents and wife Margaret. He is survived by his children Justin, Graeme, and Alison; brothers John and David and sister Sally; and extended family and friends.
