Memorial Mass is to be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 9th at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested in Noreen’s name to the University of St. Mary, Leavenworth, KS or to a charity of choice. Noreen was born August 22, 1936 to Patrick Owen and Nora Catherine (Ring) Kennedy in Shawnee, KS. She was a 1958 graduate of the University of St. Mary, Leavenworth, KS and served on its alumni board and scholarship board. She was a long time member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Noreen was very active in volunteer work. For more than 20 years she volunteered for Northland Meals-On-Wheels and proudly served on the board. She loved spending time with family, especially her two grandchildren Zachary and Catherine. For most of her life Noreen was an avid bridge card game player, and she also enjoyed reading and cooking.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Joe Azzarelli; daughter, Catherine Noreen Pendergrass and husband, Jim; two grandchildren, Catherine Pendergrass and Zachary Pendergrass and his wife, Lauren, and numerous other family members in Chicago and Kansas City.
