

Noreen Denney, 92, passed on August 6, 2021. Noreen was born on February 7, 1929. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and attended Bishop Ward High School. She worked for Braniff Airlines as a flight attendant. Noreen was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri and spent many years working for Waco Scaffolding before retiring.
Noreen was a feisty firecracker of a woman, amazing cook and gardener, and loving soul. Mom was always telling people that she was to still be able to see, hear & had all her own teeth. She was proud of that fact. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Her favorite destinations were Hawaii and Britain, but also toured Thailand, Ireland and Cyprus. She enjoyed an occasional glass of wine when visiting with friends.
She married George Denney in 1952 and was blessed with four children – Tricia Wood (Jim), Colleen Weems (Steve), Curtis Denney (Beth) and Martha Evans (Roger). She had a beautiful marriage to George, who was a Judge for the KC Municipal Court. George passed away in 1984. George and Noreen had a special relationship with Richie Smith, who was one of their very best friends.
Noreen had two grandchildren, David Wood (Christina), Jenny Williams (Todd) and four great grandchildren – Brenden, Cameron, Logan and Kyle.
She is preceded in death by her husband George Denney, son Curtis Denney, her parents Frank and Nellie Quinlan, sisters Teresa Burt and Jeannie Turner, her brother-in-law Gene Burt. She is survived by her brother Michael Quinlan and brother-in-law Emory Turner. Noreen has a large extended family of many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Noreen’s family is grateful for the medical personnel who cared for Noreen during her recent illness.
