Norma Lou Phillips, age 86, of Clearwater, Florida (formerly of Parkville, Missouri) passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at her home, surrounded by the love of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was born on June 7,1937 in Kansas City, Kansas. First and foremost, Norma was a wife and mother. If you knew Norma, you knew of her lifetime love of travel. She could tell you many entertaining stories of her world travels with husband Ben and with her entire family. The ocean was her favorite place. Norma enjoyed movies, reading, sewing, knitting, music, outdoors, games and more. She was passionate about life, not missing an opportunity to observe, learn, teach, and do.
Norma was charitable with her time, money and deeds; many times creating opportunities for others and encouraging them to succeed. She was a friend to many; she was intuitive and would know when something was troubling your soul. She was a spiritual person and active in the church. Norma loved God.
Norma is preceded in death by her son Stephen.
Norma is survived by her husband Ben; her brother and sister, Ron and Melanie; her children Donna, Brian, Kurt, Carissa, and Virginia; her seven grandchildren Adam and Megan, Clinton and Natalie, Lourene, Kevin and Sami, Greg, Justin, and Josephine; and her eight great grandchildren Elliot, Elaina, John, Dominic, Caedmon, Knox, Ezekiel, and Augustus.
A memorial service for Norma will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 starting at 10 am at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64119. Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date.
