

Oma June ‘Judy’ Hoffman, 88 of Independence, MO passed away July 19, 2014. Visitation Wednesday, July 23rd from 5-7:30pm at the McGilley & Shiel Chapel with memorial service beginning at 7:30pm. Cremation.
Judy was born September 30, 1925 in El Dorado, KS to Luther & Goldie Leggitt. Her father was a Pipeline Supervisor who traveled extensively through the Midwest & Judy traveled with him as a child. She lived in Rochester, NY for a period of time until returning to the Kansas City area in 1946 where she met the love of her life, Zehner Hoffman. Judy was a homemaker & mother to their 7 children. She eventually returned to the working world as an Assistant Buyer for Macy’s and then retired as an Office Manager in the insurance industry after 8 years.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents & brothers, Raymond Leggitt & Stephen Scott Leggitt. She is survived by her 7 children, Ellen Kuhn, Julie McGinnis, Zehner ‘Buck’ Hoffman (Linda), Susan Blankenship (David), Sara Alpert (Irwin), Rose Whitsitt & Aimee Worley (Earl); 16 grandchildren & 25 great-grandchildren.
