
Orval F. Johnson, 96, passed away on July 22, 2015. Orval was born May 29, 1919 in Bogard, MO the son of Elmer and Vera Johnson. Orval was raised by his stepmother Goldie Johnson. Orval was a World War II veteran, serving 4 years in the Army Air Corp in the Pacific area. He graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry and practiced in the Kansas City and Independence area for over 50 years. On March 15 1943, Orval married Inez (Kackley) Johnson. They shared 72 years of marriage together. She survives of the home. In addition to his wife Inez he is survived by his son, Mark A. Johnson (Debbie); a daughter, Anita Costanza (John); four granddaughters, Heather, Kara, Melissa and Kaylee; two great grandchildren, AvaMarie and Koldyn “Jack”, and three sisters, Roxie Stevenson, Madeline McCollum and Darlene Nicks. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Lilburn, Billie, Bobby and Dwight. Orval loved to garden, he was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church, he traveled the world extensively, he volunteered for his community and the Oak Grove Senior Center. Above all else Orval loved spending time with his family. Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm at the Oak Grove Christian Church. Burial will be at a later date.
