Pamala Sue Campo died at age 77 due to complications with pneumonia on Friday, July 7, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital with family and friends by her side. She was born on March 20, 1946, to Alice Ruth Smith. She both was born and died in Kansas City, Missouri.
As a child, Pam grew very ill. Because of this, it caused her to quit school young at just 8th grade. She would instead help her mother at the nursing home. Since then, she has liked helping people in any way she can. Even after losing sight and hearing, she continued to try and help.
On December 1st, 1978, Pam married John Cruzan Campo. Together they had three children, Peter Dante Campo, John Cruzan Campo Jr, and Alice Ruth Chester. Some years later, they divorced because he abused her and her kids. Since then, she has raised them by herself.
Pam loved watching her paranormal shows, listening to Elvis, playing games, asking Google what time is it, and spending time with her family. After losing her eyes, things got hard for her, and she could not enjoy some of these activities, such as gaming and being independent.
Pam's mother (Alice Ruth Smith) and her siblings (May Marie, Frank Smith, and Romona Bridges) predeceased her. Surviving members include her children Peter Dante Campo, John Cruzan Campo Jr, Alice Ruth Chester, grandchildren MacKenzie Marie Chester, Steven Alexsander Brooks, Samantha Michelle Chester, Ashlee Jade Campo, Kali Karma Campo, nieces Christina Marie Evans, Jill Ann Johnson.
Pam's visitation of remembrance will be held at 9-10 am on Monday, July 17, 2023, located at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home.
