Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 8th at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, followed by her Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. A committal service will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Peggy was born December 12, 1942 in Kansas City Missouri. After graduating from Raytown High School, she joined her brother Tom Butterfield as he founded Butterfield Boys Ranch in Marshall, Missouri.
She returned to Kansas City and married Wayne Wolford from Marshall. They had two children, Stacy Ann and Russell Wayne. After spending some time with Wayne in Saudi Arabia where he worked, she returned to Kansas City, and she and Wayne were divorced. Afterwards she met Richard Fey, of Independence. They were married and had an additional son, Richard Brian. She was married to Richard for 23 years. After that marriage ended, she worked as a care-giver at Claridge Court in Prairie Village. Peggy retired in 2018. Her greatest loves were her family, helping others, and traveling.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Robert James Butterfield, her mother Opal Pearl Butterfield and her step-mother Maye Butterfield. Her 3 brothers, Don, Dick and Tom and her son Russell's wife Alicia Wolford.
Survivors include her 3 children, Stacy Kuhl and her husband Buddy of Blue Springs, Missouri. Russell Wayne Wolford of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Richard Brian Fey and his wife Jennifer of Independence, Missouri. She also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
