Peggy was born June 4, 1953 in Butler, PA, the youngest of a family of 10 children. Her parents were Norman and Henrietta (Hopfer) Krauth. She grew up on a farm until 1960 when they moved to Pittsburgh, PA. Her early career began at Mellon Bank and she worked her way up to assistant office administrator before moving to Kansas City in 1973. There she continued her career as office administrator to the owner of Broadway Supply. She later joined Larry Drummond in his business as Office Manager.
Peggy enjoyed traveling (especially Hawaii…her favorite island was Kauai), cruises, and visiting foreign countries. Another favorite destination was Palm Springs, California. She loved going to the lake...boating, skiing, swimming…anything near the water. A big part of her life was her pets. Spotty, a childhood pet, was her first dog, followed by Joey, Joelle and Mr. Joe (all Malteses), and Danny Doe who was her latest rescue pet. Her beloved cats were JJ, TJ and Rufus.
Peggy battled valiantly with pancreatic cancer for the past 15 months. She kept her good attitude and beautiful smile right up to the end. Her Catholic faith helped her to persevere through the tough times.
Those left to cherish Peggy’s memory are her siblings Sister Mary Leah Krauth, Tom, Bob and Fred Krauth and life partner of 48 years, Larry Drummond; also many close friends and acquaintances.
