Penny Grace Wells was born on Saturday, July 13, 2019 to Wendel and Chanel Wells in Rexburg, Idaho. She was a perfect little baby and had the cutest features: her little turned up nose, small hairy ears, and long, skinny feet. Penny melted hearts and brightened lives from the beginning. She was an angel on earth.
Her and her older brother Emerson quickly became best friends. When one was having a bad day they looked to the other for hugs and comfort. No one could make Penny laugh harder than Emerson. Penny had the best belly laugh. Often she laughed so hard she couldn’t catch her breath and needed to lean on something for support. Her laugh was always contagious.
Penny gave the best hugs. Her soft, little body would fold into the recipient of the hug. There was no hug like a Penny hug. Those sweet hugs are what her dad always needed and looked forward to. Penny loved all who came into her life and held a special place for each person. Her relationships were unique to each individual. Her Grandpa Turner (“Bampa”) was by far one of her favorite people. They were inseparable when they were together.
Penny had a complicated medical life. She was seen by many specialists and her overall condition remained a mystery. Her family is deeply grateful for the doctors and nurses who personally cared for her. Their time and investments will never be forgotten. Penny’s mother will forever cherish the weeks, days and hours spent cuddling in the hospital recliner.
Although Penny was ill, she was able to enjoy many joyous moments throughout her life. She attended family reunions, went on multiple family vacations and enjoyed life thoroughly.
She passed away peacefully into the next life on October 18, 2022 in her home in Kansas City, Missouri. Thanks to the Savior, Jesus Christ, her family looks forward to the day they will be reunited and able to hold her once again. Her last moments were spent in the loving arms of her parents. She will forever be missed and hearts will ache.
Penny is survived by her parents, Wendel and Chanel, her brother Emerson, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who love her.
