

Phillip Martin Hale of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on January 12, 2022 surrounded in love by his wife and children. Phil was born on February 12, 1947 in Independence, MO to Mayvella and Garlon Hale.
Phil graduated from Van Horn High School in 1965, after which he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. He returned to Independence at the conclusion of his service and enrolled at Central Missouri State University where he met his wife, Vicky, was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, and graduated with his degree in Criminal Justice in 1972.
Phil worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Jackson County, MO from 1972 until 1984, at which time he transitioned to reserve Deputy status and began working at Allied Signal (Honeywell) as a Security Officer until his retirement in 2006.
Phil was an active member of Abundant Life Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved granddaughters. He was known for his stories and his generous heart that always put others ahead of himself.
Phil is preceded in death by his brother, Richard and parents, Mayvella and Garlon. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Vicky, his son Ryan and daughter-in-law Casey, their daughters Madeline and Audrey, his daughter Mindy and her daughters Reagan and Haley. Phil also leaves his sister Faye and several beloved family members who will all miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Abundant Life Church in the Administration Auditorium, 414 SW Persels Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081 on January 22, 2022 at 1:00pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm. For those who wish to attend, a graveside service will take place on February 10, 2022 at 1:00pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
