Phillip Alan Thomas, age 64, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on October 4, 1961, to Darrell Lee and Dorothy Mae Thomas.
Phil loved to fish and hunt at the family farm in Nevada, Missouri, and in Osceola, at Mr. Daugherty's. He owned a fencing company, Thomas Fence, for several years and took great pride in building fences and managing his company. He enjoyed cooking what he hunted, such as pheasant, quail, fish, and deer. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Aruba. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Phil attended Longview Methodist Church and was an active member.
Phil was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Lee Thomas. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Mae Thomas, his sister, Rhonda (Joe) Karr, his two sons, Barret (Rachel) Thomas and Gavin (Lia) Thomas, and his daughter, Aleigh (Paul) Flournoy. He was also survived by his grandchildren, Madison, Cameron, Aiden, Carter, Emry, and Joey.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 10 AM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM at the same location, committal at Mount Moriah Cemetery following the service.
