Ralph J. Smart

Mr. Smart was born August 14, 1925 in Rayville to Jesse and Cecil (Stone) Smart. He had lived in the Rayville area and married Aleta Trayler of Kansas City (formerly of Rayville) on April 4, 1948. Mr. Smart worked for the Kansas City Star newspaper for 27 years before his position was ended because of updated technology. He then worked for building maintenance in a downtown Kansas City office building until retiring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aleta; one sister, Joan Brown-O'Dell and infant brother, Ray Donald Smart and infant sister, Norma Joyce Smart.

Survivors include his daughter, April (Kevin) Boyer, Kansas City North; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer) Boyer, Kansas City North, and Holli (Nick) Stevens, Perkins, OK; and four great-grandchildren.
