Dear Pat,-I've already told you this but I wanted to share it with the rest of Ray's friends and family, too,-that I thought that you and everyone else that had a hand in planning and executing the funeral arranngements did so with such grace. I really felt like Ray was at ease in death as he was in life and that the services made that evident.  He was a spiritual person and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make it feel so spiritual and graceful,-i felt like his services represented his transition with as much ease as Ray represented in life.

To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord, one of the cornerstones of faith...Our thoughts & prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Pat, I just learned about the death of your husband and wanted to let you know how sorry I am for you.  Life just sometimes isn't fair.  Let the good memories surround you.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Just reading these entries, tells me he was a fun-loving man with a great love for his family and friends. May it give you some comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and will always be with you spiritually every step of the way. God bless you and your family. Dear Pat, I am so very sorry for your loss. Dean was a special guy.I will miss him yelling down the street to me "Hi Sweetie" or "Hi Baby" whenever he saw me outside. Pat, I remember when you first started dating Ray, and how we teased you whenever he called you at work. Sweetie, I am so sorry for your loss, I know you have lost your soul mate. Dear Pat, and all of Ray's family,-this was so sudden and you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  I was really glad that Ron and I were able to see him one last time.  Ray had such a good heart and will be greatly missed by everyone.  Like Ron says, he was a big Teddy Bear.  I was really glad to see for myself that day i visited him in the hospital that he looked like he was sleeping peacefully and comfortably,-he woke up briefly and looked right at me and said "hi baby" and made my day.  I know he is in a safe place and keeping his eye on us and probably laughing.  I will always love Ray and look forward to seeing him again one day.

 After 40 years of friendship I sit here and just smile at all the good times and trouble we got into. 

Pat you had a special man, they only made one Ramon and I hope when you think about him, he brings a smile to your face like he does mine.

Pat ~ My heart goes out to you.  It is impossible think of any words that may help to ease the loss you endured.  I cannot even begin imagine what you must be going through.  Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and that you have so many people who love and support you during this difficult time. May you find peace in knowing that Raymond is with God.

Knowing Ray was a special event for me. As a teenager he stayed at my home for days at a time. I never could keep dill pickles, cheese and cookies in the house. My son, Ron Cornish and Ray have remained friends all these long years. Every time Ray came around he always called me Mom and made me feel like a special someone in his life. Once when we had a terrible event in our life, he took me under his wing and gave me a full beauty make over without charge. 
When ever I think of Ray I will smile, because he walked his mile to his own drummer and had what appeared to me a lot of fun doing it. I will miss my 4th of July hug and the great pleasure of knowing Ray all of these 40 years. One day this old lady will meet my maker and there will be all those that my heart has cared for and one of those will be Ray. God bless you Pat and take care. Judy Clark and Del

I can't even begin to express my sorrow and pain over the passing of Ray.  In the most formative and tumultuous years of my life, Ray was one of my closest friends and confidantes.  There was a time when we did very few things without being in each other's company. 

Ramon was a passionate person, and not shy about telling you where you stood and why.  He was a fierce friend, the kind of which one makes but few in a lifetime.  I could tell so many stories about our times together, but most of them, sadly, are unsuitable for this forum. I will, however, enjoy a lifetime of smiles because of those tales.  From Shug I learned that pilfred tequila is the best tequila, that it is possible to be patient with people who talk to things that aren't there, that there are terms for things that most people don't talk about that could make even a priest smile, and that a cardboard refrigerator box can, indeed, be a cake, as long as you have a magic marker.  Ray was the only person I've ever known who could swear like a sailor right in front of your very straight laced mother in law, yet leave her charmed and smiling as he bid her farewell.  He was everyone's prodigal, always up to his ears in something, and always, always loved and welcomed back into the fold upon his return, with fresh tales for the telling.

Ray was my brother of choice, a family member despite the accident of a lack of blood relation.  Our mothers shared a first name,  that pretty well covered it for me.  Pat, Carolyn and Paul - I know you will miss him terribly.  Your love and acceptance was what made him the tremendous human being that he was. I know he loved you with all the heart and determination he had.

I was blessed to have been able to share part of this very short life with Raymond Dean Slover, and I will never, never forget him.

Our hearts and thoughts are with Pat, Aunt Carolyn, Paul and his family during this difficult time.  I will always hang on to the memories of my cousin Ray we had some great times and shared a bunch of laughs over the years.  Rest in peace cousin Ray...I will eat an olive for you ever chance I get.
