Richard H. “Rick” Kundee, 83, of Independence, Missouri, passed away December 28, 2010 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Mr. Kundee was born January 15, 1927 in Michigan. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army. He was former Post Commander of the American Legion Post 21 of Independence, Missouri. Mr. Kundee was involved with baseball youth activities in the Independence area. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Kundee and sister Bonnie Smith. Mr. Kundee is survived by his wife Marie Kundee of the home; son Rick Kundee and wife Missy; daughter Sharon Kundee; stepsons Louis Moreno and wife Kim, Dennis Moreno and wife Linda, and Gregory Moreno; stepdaughters Vicky Katosh, Brenda Harrod, and Donis Hamtil and husband Sean; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two nieces. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, who will be missed by all.
