Richard E. Peterson, 79, of Platte City, MO, passed away September 10, 2010, at Northcare Hospice. Visitation will be held Monday, September 13, from 9-10 a.m. at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel with funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO. Richard was born on April 8, 1931, to John and Edna Peterson of Lathrop, MO. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Coons of Platte City, MO; two grandchildren, Kristy Watson of KCMO and Karrie Foster of Florence, CO; six great- grandchildren; a brother, Vernon Peterson of Osborne, MO; four sisters, Bonnie Irwin and Nancy Huxtable of Liberty, MO, Nellie Gauldin of KCMO, Gloria Valentine of Houston, TX and many nieces and nephews.
