He was born at St. Joseph hospital in Kansas City, MO on October 26, 1945. He died at his home with his wife and two sons by his side. He graduated from Southeast High School in 1963 and attended night school for some college credits. He also took lessons in flying, loved to travel, making beautiful furniture and loved people. He was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and great grandfather.
He has two sisters, Sandra and Sharon who adored their little brother. He married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia, of 59 years, and they had twin boys. He was drafted into the Army on April 26, 1968 where he served in active duty for two years. Richard was a very kind, loving, caring and compassionate person. The most important things in life for him was God, family and his church. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 8 and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church. He has been a deacon at Connection Point Church in Raytown, MO since 1996.
He loved to travel in his RV and has seen many things and gone many places. He has left his print in the world and made many memories for and with his family and people that know him.
He leaves behind his wife, Cynthia Balcom-Prowell, two sons and their wives, 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be greatly missed. Richard will be laid to rest in his home. Celebration to be announced at a later date.
