

Rita Marie Fuller, 80, Liberty, MO, passed away October 10, 2011 at North Kansas City Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday, October 15, 2011 at St James Catholic Church, Liberty, MO, burial, in Resurrection North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Friday at McGilley Antioch Chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Rita was born on April 9, 1931 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Hogan High School in 1948 and married Thomas Fuller on October 25, 1952. Rita and Tom raised their five children in the Kansas City area. She spent many years working in county government as deputy clerk to Clay County Circuit Judge. In 1988, Rita was elected Clay County Circuit Clerk where she served until her retirement in 2004. Rita was very involved in several community organizations throughout her life including: the Northland Democratic Club; the Kiwanis Club of Clay County; North Kansas City Chamber of Commerce; and many other civic groups. Rita enjoyed spending time with her large family and many life-long friends in the Bridge Club, the Birthday Club and trips to “the boats”.
Rita was preceded in death by her Mom and Dad, Marge and Will Fisher, four sisters, two brothers and daughter Rita of Alaska. Rita is survived by her husband, Thomas Fuller Sr., son Thomas Jr. and wife Judy of Lawson, daughter Peggy Pursley and husband Norman of Kansas City, son Bob and wife Melissa of Smithville and son Tim of Liberty.
