Robert was born August 28, 1931, in Timnath, Colorado to the late Joseph and Helen Mefford. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Frances Miller Mefford, 2 brothers and 3 sisters and a grandson James Anthony Lee Wooten.
He is survived by his 3 children: Diana (James) Mefford Wooten, Stephen Preston (Cheryl) Mefford Sr. and Michael Arlen Mefford; 2 granddaughters: Megan (Michael) Mefford Matter and Erin (Kevin) Wooten Constantino; a grandson: Stephen (Shelby) Preston Mefford Jr.; 4 great granddaughters: Kyrie Mefford, Parker Mefford, Rylie Mefford and Adalynn Smith; 3 great grandsons: Sterling Matter, Westley Matter and Anthony River Constantino. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the most loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be truly missed.
A graveside service and military honors for Robert will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Washington Cemetery, 614 S. Brookside Ave., Independence, MO 64053. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial gifts to The American Cancer Association or a charity of your choice.
