Robert Dale Meyer, “Doctor Bob”, 57, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away December 17, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, at Congregation Beth Torah, 6100 W. 127th Street, Overland Park, Kansas. Interment will be in the Congregation Beth Torah section in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation, 1000 Carondelet Drive, Kansas City, Missouri 64114, designated for Medical Missions. Bob was born April 29, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Leon and Marian (Lesser) Meyer. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he also completed his medical education. He was former President of the Medical Staff, Medical Center of Independence. He worked with Midwest Hospital Specialists in Internal Medicine as a hospitalist physician at several area hospitals, most recently at Research Medical Center and St. Joseph Medical Center. Preceding his work as a hospitalist, Bob had been in private practice for many years. He served on a medical mission to Jamaica with the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation. He was a founding member of Congregation Beth Torah. On September 19, 2010 he married Maria T. “Terry” Arredondo Solis. Bob enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, nature and travel. He was known for his great sense of humor and varied interests, including fine foods, sports and dancing. He was preceded in his death by his parents and sister Janet Dubinsky. Bob is survived by his wife Terry Solis of the home; son Joel Meyer of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter Leah Meyer of St. Louis, Missouri; stepson Michael Manes of Kansas City, Missouri; former wife of 24 years and mother of his children Judith Winter Meyer of Lawrence, Kansas; two nephews Adam and Jonathan Dubinsky; extended family and many friends.
