Robert L. Shannon, 96, passed away October 7, 2015. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel, 123rd & State Line Rd., KCMO. A graveside service, with full military honors, will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., KCMO.
Robert was born June 28, 1919, to James and Mary (Hinkle) Shannon in Saline County, MO. He was married to the love of his life Geraldine who passed away in October, 2013.
Robert served his country in the United States Army from 1941 until 1945, during which time he was awarded the Bronze Star. In later years, he worked as an auto mechanic.
Robert's recent caregivers describe him as a very kind and thoughtful gentleman.
