

He was born in Olathe, KS and moved to Kansas City, MO in his youth. He graduated in 1977 from Archbishop O’Hara High School and later earned a BA from Rockhurst College and an MA from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
After graduating in DC, he decided to stay in that area and lived for 40 years in Virginia.
Bob worked as a procurement specialist for federal government contractors, including Boeing. He lived an active life in Virginia and enjoyed photography, travel, celebrating his Irish heritage and going to festivals, especially Renaissance festivals. He loved to volunteer and donated many years to the Jaycees, Knights of Columbus and the Honor Flight Program.
Bob’s Catholic faith was very important to him and he made many friends at his parish, St Charles. He was a lector and a member of Cursillo, which teaches Christian laypeople how to become effective leaders over the course of a three-day retreat.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, James M. Wear and mother, Rosemary D. Wear. He is survived by four sisters including Sharon Hamilton, Connie Guerrero, Jayme Wear and Mindy Gallagher.
A one-hour visitation and funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 10, beginning at 9:30 am. These services will be held at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, 130 NW Murray Rd in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 76th and Blue Ridge Blvd.
