

Bob was born on July 8, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert & Eula Yockey and lived his entire life in the Kansas City area. In 1958, he graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Business. On April 15, 1960, he married his college sweetheart Adele “Dee” Senevey and they were married for 51 years until her death in 2011. They were blessed with their only son Robert Dean “Rob” who was born on June 26, 1965. Bob was proud to have 4 beautiful granddaughters, Ashley, Allyson, Alex, & Abby and 7 great-grandchildren whose ages range from 10 months to 8 years old.
Bob spent his early years in the food distribution business where he worked for iconic brands like Morton House. They were famous for baked beans in the 60’s & 70’s. He later became a real estate agent where he started his career working for Kroh Brothers Realtors and became one of the best well known and respected realtors in Kansas City. During his time at Kroh Brothers he earned many awards for top sales in the company and throughout the city. He also made many lifelong friends from the Kroh Brothers days, many of which he talked to regularly up until his last days. He spent the later part of his real estate career with Reece and Nichols where he made many more friends over the years and his real estate license is still active today.
Bob was a faithful Christian and active at Mission Road Bible Church in his younger days and at Journey Bible Church most recently. He also had many lifelong friends from College and Mission Road Bible church and had the privilege of making many new friends at Journey Bible church as well. He always wanted to have a positive impact on everyone he met. He also enjoyed volunteering at Mission Southside and helping others.
Bob had few hobbies, but in his later years enjoyed watching football and golf. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge about historical athletes from all sports and loved telling quotes from many of those famous athletes. He was also very well versed in the history of the World War II era and could quote many historical quotes from admirals and generals and tell you little known details about battles during the war
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Adele “Dee” Yockey. He is survived by his son Robert D. Yockey and daughter-in-law Opal M. Yockey, Four grandchildren; Ashley (David), Allyson (Tyler), Alexandra (Matt), & Abigail. Also 7 great-grandchildren Aiden (7), Parker (5), Sophie (1), Bennett (8), Blakely (4), Banks (2), & Reese (10 months), His brother Don (Sonia), and 9 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 12 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home followed by the Memorial Service at 2pm. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery South. The Funeral Home & Cemetery are located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
