

Rod was 50 years old when he passed away after different health complications. He attended school in the Raytown School District and college at Merryville, MO. He was very active in sports in school and was on the golf team, wrestling team and football team and was team captain on his football team. He worked for the Kansas City Star for many years and also for a collection company. About 12 years ago, he was cleaning his mothers gutters and fell off the roof and had many injuries and broken bones. After that he was on disability. He showed some health improvements until about 3 years ago and he had severe liver problems. Most of his life he lived in the Raytown area, but also lived in Blue Springs, MO, Grandview, MO and his job took him to Nevada for a couple of years. He loved holidays, especially Christmas, Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July. He also enjoyed family reunions in Nebraska and Kentucky.
Rod was preceded in death by his father Ray, Aunt Dar (who was like a second mom), uncle Joe and uncle Ben, grand parents Ben and Gladys Ridgley, Wavy and Ernie Lee Daugherty, Aunt Gin, and cousins Jade Ridgley, Spike (Ben) Ridgley, and Richie Ridgley.
Rod is survived by his wife Emily, sons Riley and Logan, daughter, Lyndy, grandsons Oliver and Sawyer, mother Charlene and brother, Randy. Uncles and aunts, Butch and Twonana, Judy, Wendell and Joan and Zoe. And many cousins and friends.
A memorial service followed by a luncheon will be held on April 16 at 2:00 PM at Raytown Christian Church (6108 Blue Ridge).
