Distance visits were impossible but email and phone calls were in order.

My husband was Ron’s younger brother.  Our 2 sons are Rons only living blood relatives.  I have been sending Ron family pictures of the brothers as kids and their parents.  He enjoyed the past.
If possible I would like them returned to share with my sons.  I am glad he is at peace following so many years of ill health!

RK's wife, Lee, was my best friend. He dubbed her Sam and that is what we all called her. Because I spent a great deal of time with Sam, I got to know RK well. He had lots of stories about all his exploits that we enjoyed. He took good care of Sam, particularly when she was dying. I was very grateful to him for that as I was living in England at the time and couldn't be with her. I called regularly until it got too much of an effort for her to talk. RK would relay my message to her so she didn't have to talk as much. It was very hard on him, but he was a stand up guy and was there for her when she needed him most. I kept in touch with RK after Sam died and corresponded with him this past Christmas. He seemed in good spirits and wrote a funny little note--par for RK. Rest in peace with Sam, dear friend.

Ron and I go back 38yrs, 18 of which I had the pleasure of working with him.  He was a great mentor and friend. I will sorely miss our times together, his insight and advise will remain forever in my heart.  Ron - lunch at Charlie Hoopers won't be the same and thank you for the great memories! The world was I better place with Ron in it and I am a better person for having known you.  I truly hope you know how much your friendship meant to me.

When I was in college, I visited Aunt Lee and Uncle Ron one year on spring break. I took the bus down there because I was a poor student. I had a wonderful week with them, wining and dining and seeing the sites of Kansas City, but when it was time to return home, they drove me to the airport instead of the bus station.  Uncle Ron thought it was terrible that I should have to ride a bus for several hours when it was just an hour flight! I made other visits to KC over the years, but that one will always be the most memorable .  Miss that time in my life. Miss you and Aunt Lee

Even though I haven't know Ron for very long, I've come to know him and often he would share stories of his friends and childhood memories. He did have quite a life and an adventurous one at that. He loved classical music and sometimes that's what we listened to all day. He enjoyed his friends especially when they dropped by. I know it's your birthday today so kick up those heels and I  hope I brought a little pleasure in your life.  R.I.P.

RK is at peace now back with his love. Have a lot of memories with RK. Had the pleasure of attending a board meeting at the corner table in his favorite spot on Wednesday morning with all the regulars. We talked cars of all kinds, road ralleys, circle tracks, road courses. RK and Aunt Lee came to Heartland park to visit us and within 15 minutes of arriving he was getting the tour of the track and pits on a golf cart having the time of his life. Rest in Peace RK.
