Ronald Murray Watts

Service will be held Friday, February 3rd, 2017 at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd. KCMO with visitation 4:00-5:00 PM and a Celebration of his life 5:00-6:00 PM.

Ron was born April 20, 1935 in Springfield, Massachusetts and married the former Kathleen Ann (Kay) Costello on April 26, 1958.

Ron was pre-deceased by parents Francis and Lillian Watts, brother Allan Watts, sisters Betty Britt and Carolyn Keeney and his loving wife of 52 years, Kay Watts. He is survived by his four children Marty Watts (Greenville, SC), Mark Watts (Maui, HI), Kathleen Foley (Overland Park, KS) and Dan Watts (Kansas City, MO), seven grand-children Deanna, Jenna, Zack, Taylor, Heather, Samantha and Joey, and two great grand-children Lawson and Lachlan.

Ron earned a BA degree in Marketing from University of Connecticut. He was a Staff Sargent in the National Guard. He started his career as an insurance salesman with Provident Mutual and then joined Hallmark Cards in 1960 for a 30-year career culminating as Regional VP, department store sales. He combined his passions of golf and marketing in owning a Clubhouse Golf franchise for 8 years before his retirement.

Ron was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was active in the life of his family. He was an avid U.S. and global traveler, golfer, gourmet, grill-master and Chiefs fan. He loved his many dogs over the years. He had a passion for learning about his Scottish ancestry.
