Roscoe Jasper Williams, 89, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away October 30, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Williams was born November 13, 1921 in Eldridge, Missouri, fifth of six children born to George Wesley and Gracie Jane (Cyrus) Williams. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. On June 7, 1948 he married Beulah Marie Morrison. He was a member of Greendale Baptist Church and Benton Baptist Church. Mr. Williams retired from Skelly Oil after 30 years of service. He loved to ride his stationery bike and visit his neighbors by riding his golf-cart around the neighborhood with his dog Mandy. He traveled every year with his family going to almost every state. He had a love of trains and collected them. Mr. Williams who loved to swim for rehabilitation donated the steps to the pool at Minute Circle Friendly House. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beulah Williams; his sister Ruby Jewel Turner; his children Gary Lee Williams, Nancy Jo Riebel, Billy Gene Williams, Robert Wesley Williams and Leroy James Williams; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
