Rose Mary Grantham

Rose Mary Grantham, 87, Gladstone, MO, passed away May 19, 2012 at New Mark Care Center. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 AM Tuesday, May 22nd at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 8-9 AM Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Franciscan Hermitage/Fr. Justin Belitz, OFM.

Rose Mary was born July 18, 1924 in Kansas City, KS to William Patrick Hall and Mary Alice (Hanna) Hall. In 1971, she moved to Gladstone with her family and has showed extraordinary kindness to her neighbors for these past 40 years. She became a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and participated in its Friendly Club and St. Cecelia Altar Society Circle. Her husband, Fred Grantham, Jr, preceded her in death in 1982.

In her retirement years, Rosie lovingly cared for her four granddaughters, chauffeuring them to and from school and activities. She loved to treat her family to a bite to eat at Carlito’s, Cascone’s or another one of her many favorite locally owned restaurants. In the evenings, she attended bingo parlors with a close group of friends. She definitely lived life to the fullest!

Survivors include 2 daughters, Cathy Bryant and husband Harold of Gladstone, MO, and Patty O’Shea of Gladstone, MO; 4 granddaughters, April Porter and husband Brian of Eureka, MO, Sara Weikel and husband Chris of Liberty, MO, Vickie Adams and husband Ethan of Kansas City, MO, and MC O’Shea of Gladstone, MO; and 2 great-grandsons, Jackson Adams and Kaien Weikel.

Rosie’s family would like to express its deepest gratitude to the staff of New Mark Care Center and Crossroads Hospice for showing such dedication, kindness and respect to Rose Mary during her time in their care.
