

Rosemary B. (O’Brien) Iwersen, Kansas City, Missouri , passed away on May 2, 2013 in her home. It was her 91st birthday. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Rosemary was a graduate of Creighton University. In 1945, Rosemary married Arthur E. Iwersen, DDS, and together they raised seven children.
Beloved by her family and friends, Rosemary was cherished for her warmth, humor and positive spirit. She made each day an adventure and a lot of fun, and she adored her family. An employee of Hallmark Cards, Rosemary retired from the position she loved after 20 wonderful years. She was an avid Bridge player, an antique expert and collector, a lover of books, and a member of numerous clubs and organizations including L’ Cosmo, the Ladies of Charity, Rockhurst Circle, and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Arthur, and her children, John Mark and Tracy. She is survived by her children, Juli (Rich) Iwersen-Niemann, Tony (Kathy) Iwersen, Katy (Cy) Tenn, Molly (Ted) Wiedeman, Tina (Eric) Weinheimer; 12 grandchildren and five (and soon to be six) great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary’s life will be celebrated at Visitation Catholic Church, 52nd St. and Main, on Wednesday, May 8. Visitation is at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of followers, donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care.
