

Russell Clark Norris, 74, of Belton, Missouri passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2018 after an 18 month battle with brain cancer. Born on November 18, 1943 on a farm in rural Cherokee, Kansas to Russell Cecil Norris and Norma (Clark) Norris.
On June 13, 1965 he married the love of his life, Arlene Malnar in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Russell worked for Burgwin & Martin Consulting Engineers for two years. In 1966, with four other people, they started a Civil Engineering firm called JBM & Associates, now known as Transystems. He retired in 2008 after 42 years.
For 15 years, Russell showed Arabian Horses and won many ribbons during that time. He showed in Arabian Native Costume, Hunt, English, Show Hack, Halter & Driving.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, infant grandson Anthony Norris and sister Sharon Allen.
He is survived by his wife Arlene of 52½ years of the home, his son Jeff Norris, daughter Lacy Norris, grandchildren Spreeanne & Brandon Norris, daughter-in-law Salena Norris, sister Carolyn (Lee) Harr, brother-in-law Gene Allan, three nephews and their wives, two great-nieces, three great-nephews and two great-great nephews.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 7 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 8th at the Funeral home. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
